On August 28th, Air China and China Southern Airlines simultaneously received the first C919 aircraft at the Pudong base of COMAC's final assembly and manufacturing center, which marked that the C919 aircraft is about to start a new stage of multi-user operation.
The first C919 aircraft of Air China is an extended-range type, with a 158-seat two-cabin layout, including 8 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. The first C919 aircraft of China Southern Airlines is a standard range type, with a 164-seat three-cabin layout, including 8 business class seats, 18 Pearl economy class seats and 138 economy class seats. Both aircraft are equipped with customized cabin seats and other facilities and equipment, and the entire cabin offers personal charging interfaces to provide passengers with a convenient and comfortable flight experience.
In order to ensure the smooth introduction and subsequent successful operation of C919 aircraft, Air China, China Southern Airlines and COMAC have worked closely together to fully promote aircraft selection, production supervision, personnel training, operation preparation and other tasks. COMAC has always adhered to the customer-centeredness, continuously improved its customer service and operation support system, and prepared for more C919 aircraft to be put into operation.
Up to now, a total of nine C919 aircraft have been delivered to customers. Among them, China Eastern Airlines' C919 aircraft has been running smoothly for 15 consecutive months since its maiden commercial flight, flying 5 scheduled routes, with a total of more than 3,600 commercial flights and 10,000 flight hours.
