On July 24th, Chen Jining,Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, conducted a special investigation and attended the seminar in Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Mr. Chen and Mr. Gong visited Shanghai Nangang Terminal to inspect the production and operation of the port, listened to the introduction of automobile ro-ro and international transit business, learned about the exploration and practice of institutional innovation in Nangang, and had in-depth exchanges with relevant responsible comrades on deepening the "zone-port linkage" between Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Nangang Terminal. In China Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and HSBC Financial Technology Services (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the city leaders focused on understanding the development and core business of enterprises since they landed in Lingang New Area, discussed the development trend of the industry, analyzed the current difficulties, and listened to the ideas and suggestions of enterprises on thoroughly implementing the "service package" system for key enterprises and further supporting the development of key industries such as integrated circuits and FinTech.
Mr. Chen stated that the construction of Lingang New Area is a major strategic task assigned to Shanghai by the CPC Central Committee. It is necessary to benchmark the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the deployment requirements of the "Decision", proactively connect and actively strive for it, come up with a work plan as soon as possible, launch a new round of reform and opening up, and attract and gather more enterprises and projects with the “first mover” advantages.
Mr. Gong pointed out that Lingang New Area should adhere to the "five important" as the guide, and in accordance with the deployment requirements of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, give full play to the role of the growth pole and engine of Shanghai's economic development, cultivate the leading role of the development of new quality productive forces, comprehensively deepen reform, expand the role of high-level experimental fields for opening up to the outside world, and demonstrate and lead the role of new city construction.
