On June 6th, 2024 China Humanoid Robot Developers Conference was grandly opened. Zhang Ying, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, delivered a speech at the conference. Wu Jincheng, Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Head of Pudong New Area, Wu Qiang, Deputy Head of Pudong New Area, Mao Ming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Liu Yong, Chairman of Humanoid Robot (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., attended the event. Ding Han, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dai Jiansheng, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, made keynote speeches.
Ms. Zhang pointed out that in the face of a new round of artificial intelligence technology revolution and the general trend of industrial transformation, Shanghai will focus on important directions such as humanoid robots and embodied intelligence, give full play to the advantages of a strong industrial foundation and a complete industrial chain, and promote cross-industry cooperation to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies. It is important to gather superior resources in the city and districts, increase the expansion of demonstration applications, and open up a number of major application scenarios. It is also critical to accelerate the cultivation of innovation ecology, continue to improve the service level of innovation centers and open source communities, build a global development collaboration network, and drive Shanghai's humanoid robot industry to achieve high-quality development.
At this conference, Mr. Wu Jincheng issued a letter of appointment to Academician Mao Ming, an expert representative of the Expert Committee of the National and Local Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, and jointly unveiled the plaque for the Expert Committee of the Innovation Center with Ms. Zhang Ying. The Humanoid Robot Innovation Center officially launched the "OpenLoong" humanoid robot open source community at the conference site, which will gather forces from all parties to jointly build an open source humanoid robot ecology.
This summit focused on the key industry directions of humanoid robots and embodied intelligence. With 1 main forum, 2 closed-door meetings, 3 developer forums and 1 humanoid robot exhibition, it built a sharing and communication platform for humanoid robot developers.
