On October 31st, 2023 International Energy Storage Technology, Equipment and Application (Shanghai) Conference and Exhibition opened in Shanghai. Tang Wenkan, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Yuan Guohua, Chairman of Lingang Group, attended the event and delivered speeches. Zhao Tianshou, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the keynote speaker. The conference attracted industry leaders including Huawei, GCL and BYD, more than 600 exhibitors from dozens of countries and regions around the world and 150,000 professional visitors.
Mr. Tang presented that Shanghai attaches great importance to the development of new energy storage equipment industry, and makes it clear that new energy storage industry is an essential part of the city's "2+(3+6)+(4+5)" new industrial system. The energy storage equipment industry in Shanghai has achieved three "realizations": the whole track coverage of technical research, the agglomeration of the whole industrial chain and the rapid growth of key enterprises, which will become another dazzling growth pole for the development of advanced manufacturing industry in Shanghai. He pointed out that Shanghai regards the energy storage equipment industry as the core content of high-quality development, focusing on three "efforts". First, focus on industrial agglomeration, build an energy storage industrial park based on Lingang, promote Jiading, Minhang, Songjiang and other districts to give full play to their respective characteristics, and construct a new energy storage industrial cluster of RMB 100 billion. Second, focus on mode innovation, build a network for charging, storing and discharging urban power, strengthen the support of vehicles, piles and networks, and explore the application of "vehicle-network interaction" (V2G). And third, focus on ecological security, build 3-5 intelligent factories of energy storage equipment above L3 level, encourage and guide financial institutions to support industrial development, support the integration of production and education among leading enterprises, universities and research institutes, and export high-tech talents.
