On September 1st, the commencement ceremony of Shanghai “Intelligent Manufacturing Space” Biomedical Standard Factory Buildings and Key Projects was held in Block B03C-02 of Zhangjiang Innovative Medicine Base, attended by relevant city leaders. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the event and introduced the action plan for the construction of biomedical intellectual space in Shanghai. Liu Ping, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, was also present.
According to the deployment requirements of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai actively carried out the action plan for the construction of "Intelligent Manufacturing Space", taking the biomedical standard factory building as an important section of "Intelligent Manufacturing Space", implementing the road map of Shanghai’s biomedical industry, bearing the research and development achievements, and promoting the high-quality development of biomedical manufacturing industry.
In the next two years, Shanghai will strengthen the integrated layout of "Zhangjiang R&D + Shanghai Manufacturing", start construction of biomedical standard factory buildings with a total scale of nearly 5 million square meters, form a new cascade industrial carrier system of "incubation-R&D-pilot test-industrialization" of biomedicine, and build a new highland of global biomedical R&D economy and industrialization. This year, Shanghai is expected to start a new biomedical standard factory building of about 1.8 million square meters. Taking this construction as a starting point, it will support the development entities such as Lingang, Zhangjiang and Waigaoqiao to carry out the construction of biomedical intellectual space, laying a solid foundation for building a world-class biomedical industrial cluster.
The standard factory buildings started this time include Shanghai International Medical Park Medical Device Accelerator (Phase IV) Project, Zhangjiang Innovative Medicine Base B03C-02, B03K-03 Block Project, Lingang Life Bay Fengcheng Park Project and more, with a total investment of RMB5.1 billion. Key projects include Junshi Bio-innovative Pharmaceutical Industry Base and Rongchang Bio-global R&D Headquarters, with a total investment of RMB5.6 billion.
By the end of the year, Shanghai plans to start construction of 16 major projects of “Intellectual Manufacturing Space” and biomedical standard factory buildings, of which Zhangjiang Group started 7 projects with a total investment of about RMB7.8 billion. Lingang Group started 7 projects with a total investment of about RMB9.4 billion. And Waigaoqiao Group launched two projects with a total investment of about RMB1.6 billion.
