2023 Shanghai-Taipei Forum with the theme of "New Trends and Developments" was held in Shanghai on August 30th. Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government and Chiang Wan-an, Taipei Mayor, attended the Forum and delivered opening speeches. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Shih-Long Chao, Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology, Taipei City Government, gave keynote speeches.
In his keynote speech, Mr. Wu pointed out that Shanghai has always complied with the trend of digital development, taking digitalization as an important starting point for improving the city's energy level and core competitiveness, taking the lead in issuing opinions on comprehensively promoting the digital transformation of the city, continuously promoting the overall transformation of the three fields of economy, life and governance, taking the city as the home and enterprises as the main body, and guiding the whole society to build, govern and share a digital city.
In his speech at the Sub-forum, Mr. Wu emphasized that Shanghai should grasp the wave of digital technology innovation, promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy, take the lead in laying out industrial Internet, build smart factories, and use digital soft power to enhance the hard power of manufacturing industry and promote high-quality economic development. Big businessmen from artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, metaverse and other industrial fields discussed core topics such as data elements, digital governance, AI big model, and digital transformation of enterprises, and shared the latest practical achievements, wisdom insights and innovative insights, so as to discuss opportunities and challenges for the new digital economy and new industrial development, and seek common innovation in the future.
The two sides stated that they will take this forum as an opportunity to uphold the attitude of open exploration, mutually beneficial development and win-win cooperation, learn from each other, strengthen cooperation, continue to build a more dynamic digital economy, create a better life with higher quality, achieve new development with higher quality, and jointly write a new chapter in the future.
