On the morning of June 29th, Shanghai Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference of Shanghai Municipal Government. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, introduced the preparations for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference2023. Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Wu Qiang, Head of Pudong New Area, Yu Linwei, Deputy Head of Xuhui District and Chen Xiaohong, Chairman of Donghao Lansheng Exhibition Group, attended the press conference and answered questions from reporters.
This year is the sixth consecutive year that Shanghai has hosted the World Artificial Intelligence Conference. This conference is co-sponsored by Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Network Office, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the China Association for Science and Technology. It will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Center and the World Expo Exhibition Hall from July 6th to 8th, with sub-venues at Zhangjiang and Xuhui West Banks in Pudong, and simultaneous activities at Minhang and other industrial clusters.
The theme of this year’s conference is "Intelligent Connectivity Generating Future", and the overall structure of conference activities is set according to "1+1+2+10+N", namely, one opening ceremony, one closing ceremony, two plenary meetings on scientific and technological innovation and industrial development, 10 theme forums and N ecological forums. It will give full play to the important role of the conference as "the vane of science and technology, the application showcase, the industrial accelerator and the governance chamber", bring together the ideological wisdom, cutting-edge technologies, industrial trends and humanistic ecology in the field of global artificial intelligence, and promote the healthy and innovative development of artificial intelligence. At present, the preparatory work for the conference has entered the sprint stage.
