On December 9th, the delivery of the world’s first C919 was successfully taken in Shanghai. Zhang Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, and Zhuang Mudi, Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai Municipal Government, attended the event and jointly unveiled the world's first C919. Liu Ping, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, was present and boarded the plane for the first flight.
At the delivery ceremony, COMAC delivered the "Commemorative Key for the World's First C919" to China Eastern Airlines and issued an aircraft sales certificate. CAAC issued a nationality registration certificate, airworthiness certificate (AC) and radio station license to China Eastern Airlines. The C919 jet delivered to China Eastern Airlines has special painting and number. The front of the fuselage is printed with the "China Seal" logo and the English and Chinese version of "The World's First".
The aircraft registration number is B-919A, in which "B" represents the Chinese nationality of the aircraft, "919" matches the model name, and "A" means the first aircraft, highlighting the extraordinary significance of this new global aircraft and the first made-in-China jet in the world.
The aircraft consists of 164 seats in two cabins, with 8 business class seats and 156 economy class seats. Customized design has been made for cabin interior, passenger seats, airborne entertainment system and aircraft exterior painting. After completing the supplementary operation qualification examination and flight preparation of CAAC, the aircraft will be officially put into route operation.
The delivery of the first C919 is another major milestone in the development of China's jet industry. It means that for more than 30 years, the global civil aviation transportation market will welcome the latest and newly developed single-channel trunk aircraft. After several generations of efforts, China's civil aviation transportation market will have trunk jet independently developed by China for the first time.
