On October 14th, the kick-off meeting of the series of activities of Smart Factories in the Automobile Industry of the “100 Events of Thousands of Enterprises” Program and Promoting the Construction of New Digital Infrastructure for Smart Manufacturing was held in United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd. Tang Wenkan, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Wang Xiaojun, Vice Chairman of Pudong New Area CPPCC, Hu Weiliang, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Shanghai Company, Chen Yurong, Vice President of China Mobile (Shanghai) Industrial Research Institute, Liu Tong, Deputy General Manager of China Unicom Shanghai Company and other leaders and guests attended the event. Over 1,000 enterprises in Shanghai watched the event online.
Mr. Tang pointed out that smart manufacturing represents the deep integration of new-generation information technology and advanced manufacturing technology, which is the key direction of economic digital transformation. In the next step, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization will fully promote the high-quality development of smart manufacturing in Shanghai. First of all, we should persist in promoting reform through evaluation and intensify the construction of smart factories. "Classification" accelerates the transformation and upgrading of key industries, "one factory, one case" promotes the transformation and upgrading of enterprises, digital transformation plans are "tailor-made", and "quality improvement and increment" drives the high-level construction of smart factories. Second, we should adhere to innovation drive and improve the supply and output intensity of smart manufacturing. Accelerate the expansion of the application coverage of robots, promote the agglomeration and development of CNC machine tools, additive manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, instrumentation and other industries, accelerate the digital transformation of equipment, and improve the application level of new-generation information technology. And third, we should persist in technology empowerment and enhance the application depth of new digital infrastructure facilities. Strengthen the functions of the working groups on new digital infrastructure facilities, improve the content of product supermarkets and strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure around design, production, logistics, sales and service.

Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization interpreted the "New Round of Smart Factory Construction Promotion Plan in Shanghai" and the "New Facilities Plan for Smart Manufacturing Digital Infrastructure". Shanghai Auto Parts Association introduced the "Standard Guide for Evaluation, Diagnosis and Transformation of Smart Manufacturing Maturity in Shanghai’s Automobile Industry", which will provide guidance for smart manufacturing evaluation and diagnosis, technological transformation and upgrading, value-added and efficiency improvement for the automobile industry. Shanghai Emerging Information and Communication Technology Application Research Institute introduced Shanghai Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Infrastructure Platform (www.c3mep-sh.com), which will provide many services such as policy release, case sharing, evaluation and diagnosis, product supermarket and personnel training for the industry.
