During the first World Design Cities Conference, "Shanghai Design 100+" Press Conference and "Design Innovative City" Forum were held. Zhang Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, unveiled the series of "Shanghai Design 100+" next year. Zhuang Mudi, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal Government, presented a commemorative cup to the representative projects of this year’s "Shanghai Design 100+". Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, delivered a speech. Ernesto Otto Ramirez, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO for Culture, expressed his congratulations by video.
Mr. Wu mentioned in his speech that Shanghai will focus on the goal of building a world-class "design capital", fully integrate design concepts and design services into the five dimensions of Shanghai’s industrial development, space environment, public services, people's lives and city brand, take "Shanghai Design 100+" as an important starting point, continuously enrich the brand connotation of "Shanghai Design", create a model of "Design Innovative City", and build a first-class ecosystem of design development. The total output of the city's creative and design industry reached RMB1.6 trillion last year, and strives to exceed RMB2 trillion by 2025.
The series of "Shanghai Design 100+" platforms were announced, which will be jointly supported and promoted by UNESCO's "Creative City Network", Bank of China, Jiefang Daily, The Paper, Xiaohongshu, Dewu, Fashion Circle, Tezan Information, Shanghai Design Week, Shanghai Industrial Investment Group and other organizations in the future.
