The "Made in Shanghai - Good Products Exchange" and "Shanghai Information Consumption Festival" were held in succession as a warm-up for the “May 5th Shopping Festival”

 At the press conference of Shanghai Municipal Government held on July 30th, Gu Jun, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Liu Min, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Qiu Wenjin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Cheng Meihong, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Zhang Dezhi, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, introduced the preparations and arrangements for the 3rd "May 5th Shopping Festival".

 

 

Mr. Ruan presented that in July, the "Made in Shanghai - Good Products Exchange" and "Shanghai Information Consumption Festival" were held in succession as a warm-up for the “May 5th Shopping Festival”, and the "Made in Shanghai - Good Products Exchange" is one of the benchmark IP activities of latter. On July 15th, the offline launching ceremony and exhibition of the 3rd “Shanghai Manufacturing Fair” were held at Changning Raffles. The theme of this year's “Good Products Exchange" is "New Voice of Manufacturing". First of all, it promulgated the “Action Plan for High-quality Development of Shanghai’s Fashion Consumer Goods Industry (2022-2025)”, focusing on "Eight Fashion Products", implementing three special projects and ten actions, and comprehensively enhancing the core competency of fashion consumer goods industry. Second, with the main theme of "food, clothing, housing and people's livelihood needs", 56 fashion consumer brands in Shanghai were selected, covering national classic brands, industry leading brands and cutting-edge online influencer brands to attend boutique exhibitions and fashion shows. Through Shen Xiaoya, SMG’s virtual fashion anchor, 12 new fashion products were launched. And third, linked with six online new economic platforms, namely Xiaohongshu, Dewu, Pinduoduo, Alibaba, Bilili and Douyin, a one-month pop-up store of “Made in Shanghai” was set up to jointly promote branded and quality products and launch the "Made in Shanghai" brand with new varieties, high quality and new scenarios. According to the statistics of the partnering platforms, the sales of fashion consumer goods on these platforms was expected to exceed RMB100 billion. Meanwhile, this year's event also included the "Three Products" nationwide tour of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to increase varieties, improve quality and create brands, which is an important stop in a series of nationwide events to stabilize growth and drive consumption.

 

Shanghai Information Consumption Festival is also one of the key brand activities. This year's Shanghai Information Consumption Festival is the first stop of the National Information Consumption City Tour of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which was held from July 26th to August 25th. With the theme of "New Era of Cities and New Consumption in the Future", first of all, the "Enterprise Star Plan for Benefiting Shanghai" was released, focusing on the digital needs of startups and small and micro enterprises, and jointly launching inclusive measures such as network security insurance, cloud network empowerment, platform empowerment and selected 101 industrial software. The subsidy amount of benefiting and helping enterprises is nearly RMB7 billion, which is expected to aid more than 10,000 enterprises. Second, it set up CEO live broadcast and enterprise exclusive live broadcast season with the leaders of 8 industry associations and 8 executives of digital economy enterprises in Shanghai. "Metaverse" related products will be one of the highlights. And third, for the public, three major carriers, Sunmi, Mihoyo, Dada Group, Dewu and other companies will carry out speed-up and fee reduction offers and promote products and services including intelligent terminals, local life, cloud network services, office software, online education and entertainment, with a variety of vouchers and coupons.
