In order to thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, further enhance the innovation ability and professionalism of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), positively respond to the requirements of the special action of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for serving SMEs, and actively deliver services and resources to enterprises, on June 27th, the launching ceremony of "Maker in China" Shanghai SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2022 was held at Caohejing Development Zone, continuing the organization model of "One Competition and Three Ratings" in Shanghai Division, along with “Top 50 Startups with the Most Investment Potential in Shanghai” and the Shanghai Division of “Clash of the Titans” Global Maker Competition. Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Zhang Liming, Chairman of Shanghai Caohejing Emerging Technology Development Zone Development Corporation, attended the event and delivered speeches.
Mr. Rong pointed out that six consecutive sessions of SME Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition have effectively stimulated the vitality of entrepreneurship and innovation, which reflects Shanghai's industrial characteristics and technological strength. It has attracted nearly 3,000 entries, in which 30 enterprises entered the national list of "Maker in China" of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and many enterprises won the first and second prizes of the national competition. On average, each winner increased its equity financing by more than RMB10 million in the second year.
This year's "One Competition and Three Ratings" is open for registration in the dedicated section of "Maker in China” 2022 Shanghai SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Shanghai Enterprise Service Cloud (www.ssme.sh.gov.cn) from June 27th to July 31st. Entrepreneurial and innovative enterprises and teams are welcome to sign up for the competition.
