Energy conservation and high efficiency driven by zero carbon -- New Green Development Initiatives released at the opening ceremony of Shanghai Energy Conservation Campaign Week 2022

 On June 13th, the opening ceremony of Shanghai Energy Conservation Campaign Week 2022 was held. This year's Energy Conservation Campaign Week closely follows the theme of "Green and Low Carbon, Energy Conservation First". While extensively carrying out publicity and education on energy conservation and carbon reduction, vigorously advocating green and low carbon production and lifestyle, and actively creating a strong atmosphere of energy conservation and carbon reduction, it launched a series of activities to help resume work and production. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhou Qiang, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Liu Bin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, and representatives of Shanghai Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Commerce Commission, green manufacturing demonstration organizations and financial institutions attended the event.

 

Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the "1% Action Plan for Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction in Shanghai’s Industrial and Communication Industries (2022-2025)", which deeply analyzed the current situation of industrial energy conservation in the 13th Five-Year Plan and the goal of "double control" of energy consumption in the 14th Five-Year Plan. It puts forward to focus on improving the level of energy efficiency and take the implementation of energy-saving and carbon-reducing projects as the starting point. It also clarifies the timetable, road map and “construction drawing” of energy conservation and carbon reduction in the industrial and communication industries, in order to improve the working mechanism, drive enterprises to strengthen energy efficiency management, upgrade the digitalization level, empower energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformation, continuously improve energy utilization efficiency, and strive to save 1% of energy consumption on average every year.

 

Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission released the “Annual Report on Green Transportation Development in Shanghai in 2021”. The Report shows that Shanghai’s rail transit was more convenient in 2021, and the total mileage of city rail lines reached 831 kilometers. A total of 347 bus lines were optimized, and the accuracy of bus arrival forecast reached 97%. Road traffic also accelerates electrification transformation, and the annual sales volume of new energy vehicles is 254,000, an increase of 110% over the previous year, while full electric vehicles have become the mainstream.
