On April 26th, the "World Intellectual Property Day", the “Report on Intellectual Property Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Shanghai in 2021” was released as scheduled, which comprehensively presents the innovation achievements and intellectual property development of "specialized and innovative" SMEs in Shanghai.
According to the report, the number of patents of "specialized and innovative" SMEs in Shanghai has steadily increased, the quality has been continuously improved, and the percentage of invention patents has further grown. The growth rates of licensed patents of enterprises in high-end equipment manufacturing, software and information services, new materials and other professional services were 27.8%, 25.8%, 6.5% and 44.0% respectively. In the 2021 edition, special attention was paid to the intellectual property development of "specialized and innovative" enterprises in the three leading industries of integrated circuits, biomedicine and artificial intelligence. Statistics shows that among the above three leading industries, the average number of patents licensed by specialized and innovative enterprises is 55, 27 and 33 respectively, and the percentage of invention patents reaches 31%, 28% and 22%, and the quality and level of patent operation are ahead of the average level of "specialized and innovative" SMEs in Shanghai.
It is stated that the report was compiled by Shanghai SME Development Service Center and Shanghai Intellectual Property Park, and has been published for 9 consecutive years, with strong support from relevant departments of Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Bureau and other organizations.
