 On the morning of May 5th, the 174th press conference on COVID-19 prevention and control was held. Zhang Hongtao, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended and introduced the current situation of industrial enterprises' resumption of work and production in Shanghai. Enterprises that have resumed work and production in Shanghai maintain continuous production and use the current time to resume production. Thanks to the joint efforts of urban districts and enterprises, the resumption of industrial enterprises in Shanghai has been implemented in an orderly manner. More than 1,800 key enterprises in Shanghai have resumed work at a rate of over 70%, among which the first batch of more than 660 key enterprises have resumed work at a rate of over 90%. Key industrial chains such as automobiles, integrated circuits and biomedicine have gradually recovered, increasing production capacity, while industrial leaders continue to maintain stable production. On the whole, industrial enterprises in Shanghai have resumed work and production steadily and made certain progress. In accordance with Shanghai’s unified arrangements, each district takes the initiative and adapts to local conditions to support and encourage enterprises to resume work and production.

Meanwhile, according to the new situation of epidemic development in Shanghai and the need to drive the resumption of work and production, the second edition of the Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control of Industrial Enterprises' Resumption of Work and Production was updated and released in a timely manner, guiding and helping enterprises to resume work and production safely and orderly while doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control, so as to realize the gradual recovery of production and operation.
