On the morning of February 26th, the Special Meeting of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Strategy Consulting Expert Committee was held at Lingang. Zhang Wei, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Wu Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lingang New Area, Lu Ming, President of Lingang Group, and several Expert Committee members and invited experts attended the meeting.
Mr. Zhang affirmed the important contributions made by the members of the Expert Committee in promoting the development of artificial intelligence industry in Shanghai, and proposed to strengthen the construction of “four beams” and “eight pillars” for the development of artificial intelligence industry. Efforts should be made to facilitate the local legislation of artificial intelligence in Shanghai, and further improve the standing position to drive Shanghai into a leader in the related fields of artificial intelligence. It is necessary to give full play to the advantages of Shanghai's industrial chain, allocate resources to front-line developers, encourage the innovation of artificial intelligence algorithms, and promote the application of artificial intelligence in various industries.
Mr. Wu reported on the development of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Strategy Consulting Expert Committee and Shanghai’sartificial intelligence industry in the past year, and put forward three considerations for the next stage of work layout. First, improve the construction of governance system and lay a solid foundation for industrial development. Second, focus on key advantageous areas and expand new kinetic energy of industrial development. And third, prepare for WAIC 2022 and build a world-class communication platform at a higher level.
Members of the Expert Committee, including Chen Jie, Tang Xiao’ou, Wu Zhiqiang, He Jifeng, Jiang Changjun, Yu Xiaohui (online), E Weinan (online), Xu Lei, Yu Jingyi, Zhu Long, and invited experts, namely Zhang Dongxiao and Zhou Aoying had in-depth exchanges at the meeting and put forward a number of targeted and practical suggestions.
The meeting was presided over by Academician Chen Jie, Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee. Qu Daokui, Chen Tianshi and other experts submitted written proposals.
In the afternoon, members of the Commission and the Expert Committee visited COMAC for investigation and held an expert consultation meeting around the topic of "Digital Transformation of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Manufacturing Industry". At the meeting, COMAC Shangfei Company introduced the application of artificial intelligence technology in aircraft manufacturing, and the participating experts offered suggestions and advices for COMAC.
Responsible comrades from Artificial Intelligence Development Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Lingang New Area Management Committee, Shanghai Municipal Economic Information Development Research Center and Lingang Group were present.
