On February 22nd, Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, led a team to Shanghai Discovery ESCO Energy Service Co., Ltd., Shanghai Huadian Minhang Energy Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Zhongyuneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. to investigate the intelligent energy-saving work and promote the innovative development of contracted energy management.

At Discovery ESCO, the leadership introduced the independently developed digital technology of energy management and its application in the system upgrading project of AVIC Lithium Battery High Efficiency Refrigeration Room. The project saves 2976 tons of standard coal and 7738 tons of CO2 emissions every year, and improves the energy efficiency of the system to 4.85. Mr. Ruan affirmed the technological breakthrough made by the company in the digital transformation of energy management, and hoped that Discovery ESCO would further enhance its technical service capabilities, focus on the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, and build an advantageous digital service brand.

At Huadian Minhang Factory, Mr. Ruan visited the distributed cogeneration project of gas, heat, electricity and cooling at Huadian Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, listened carefully to the work carried out by the company in safe supply guarantee, energy saving and consumption reduction, and investigated the energy management service project provided by Shanghai Zhongyuneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for Huadian Minhang Factory on the spot. At present, Shanghai Zhongyuneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is building a boiler and flue gas waste heat recovery project for Huadian Minhang Factory through phased energy storage technology. Mr. Ruan pointed out that there is still much room for improvement in Shanghai's waste heat recovery and utilization market. Both energy-using enterprises and service organizations should be prepared for technological change, do a good job in service guarantee while producing safely, and move from "participants" in "double carbon" work to "main and new force".

The Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department and Policy Research and Regulation Department of the Commission and Shanghai Municipal Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Service Industry Association participated in the investigation.
