At the meeting, Chen Jie, President of Tongji University, and other guests announced the initiative of building a "world-class" design capital. Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization interpreted "Several Opinions on Building Shanghai into a World-class ‘Design Capital’”. Relevant leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology awarded licenses to five newly awarded "National Industrial Design Centers", including SAIC, United Imaging, MicroPort, POVOS Electric and Tezign. The meeting also released a number of creative design and fashion consumer industry projects and launched the application for "Shanghai Design 100+". Moreover, a set of industrial funds were announced.
