On the afternoon of December 28th, the Second General Meeting of the First Session of Shanghai Virtual Reality Industry Association was held in Shanghai. Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Mr. Fu pointed out in his speech that Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization is actively planning to promote the development of new terminal products in accordance with the requirements of the Economic Work Conference of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee. As the hardware powering urban digital transformation, intelligent terminals have ushered in a wave of huge development opportunities with the continuous popularization of digital application. Virtual reality is one of the directions of the new-generation terminal in the future, and it is also a key industry of development in Shanghai and in China. Since its establishment one year ago, Virtual Reality Association has continuously organized industry resources to strengthen the integration of industrial chain, innovation chain and ecological chain. Thanks to the joint efforts of the industry, a number of terminal products and business cases with development potential have emerged.
Mr. Fu further mentioned that at present, the virtual reality industry as a whole is still in its infant stage. It is expected that the industry can maintain its strategic strength, give full play to Shanghai's advantages in underlying technologies, market space and consumption potential, seize the development opportunities of digital transformation applications such as smart home-based for the aged, improve terminal products, enrich industry content, explore application scenarios, and introduce a batch of well-known new terminal products and industry applications that can represent Shanghai to the market.
