On December 9th, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group Meeting was held. Zhang Wei, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai Municipal Government and Deputy Head of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group. Wu Jincheng, Deputy Head of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group and Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Zhang Ying, Director of the Office of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, were present.
Mr. Zhang affirmed the work carried out by Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group in the past year and put forward three requirements for the next work deployment: First, accurately grasp the significance of accelerating the development of artificial intelligence industry. Artificial intelligence is an important starting point for Shanghai to enhance its urban energy level and core competitiveness, win the initiative in scientific and technological competition and catch up after entering a new stage of industrial development, and it is also the core driving force for promoting Shanghai's digital transformation. Second, grasp the main direction of high-quality development of artificial intelligence. It is necessary to actively implement Secretary Li Qiang's "Four More" requirements, give full play to the "head geese effect" of artificial intelligence, and speed up the construction of Shanghai’s artificial intelligence "Highland" with more international influence. And third, efforts should be made to form cohesion to drive the construction of artificial intelligence industrial clusters. The "14th Five-Year Plan" period is a new stage in which Shanghai's artificial intelligence industry leapfrogs and upgrades and fully integrates into urban economic life, with great responsibilities and glorious missions. All member units of the leading group should implement the "14th Five-Year Plan" of artificial intelligence, strengthen the overall planning and linkage of departments, and accelerate the construction of Shanghai’s artificial intelligence "Highland" to a new level.
At the meeting, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Bureau and Pudong New Area made exchange speeches, and relevant responsible comrades of members of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Leading Group, relevant municipal commissions and bureaus and relevant district government units attended the meeting.
