On the morning of December 1st, Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai Municipal Government, led a team to visit Shanghai Branch of China Telecom Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Telecom”) in order to implement the requirements of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Government on the steady growth of Shanghai's software and information service industries. Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Wang Tianguang, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Communications Administration, attended the visit. Gong Bo, General Manager of Shanghai Telecom, reported the business development this year and the work plan for the next stage.
Mr. Chen fully affirmed China Telecom's long-term and active participation in and support for Shanghai's economic and social development and its great contribution to Shanghai's informatization construction. He hoped that Shanghai Telecom would combine the digital transformation of the city, increase investment in new business directions, promote the construction of a digital base, help Shanghai's branding of "the First Dual Gigabit City", increase the development, deployment and promotion of Gigabit broadband applications, truly enhance the endogenous motivation of users to use Gigabit networks, and drive the growth of the overall telecommunications business.
