On the morning of October 20th, Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, met with Li Zhijun, Secretary General of CPC Dafeng District Committee, and his team. The two parties held discussions and exchanges on promoting the development and construction of Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng Industrial Linkage Cluster.
Mr. Li introduced the construction and development of Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng Industrial Linkage Cluster and its future work ideas. Mr. Rong welcomed the delegation from Dafeng District, Yancheng. He pointed out that Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng Industrial Linkage Cluster is a high-level cooperation project promoted by the governments of Shanghai and Jiangsu, and it is also an important measure to implement the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. Since its official launch on November 17th, 2015, the Cluster has made considerable achievements with the joint promotion of relevant authorities in Shanghai and Jiangsu, Lingang Group and Bright Food Group. It has gradually become an extraterritorial production capacity base of Shanghai's advanced manufacturing industry, an industrialized production base of innovative achievements of emerging industries and a demonstration area of regional industrial cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta.
Mr. Rong expressed that as the leading department of Shanghai for the promotion and coordination of Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng industrial linkage development and construction, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization will further strengthen communication and coordination with relevant authorities and units of the city, Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Yancheng Municipal Government, Dafeng District Government and Cluster Management Committee, to build a platform and promote cooperation, and actively strive for the understanding and support of the authorities of the two cities, guide all parties to reach consensus and better solve the problems of mechanism and system. At the same time, the third joint meeting will be held in due time to accelerate the high-quality development of the Cluster.
In July 2014, Shanghai Municipal Government and Jiangsu Provincial Government jointly issued "The Opinions on Jointly Developing Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng Industrial Linkage Cluster", approving the establishment of Shanghai-Jiangsu Dafeng Industrial Linkage Cluster. The Cluster is located at Shanghai Farm, the "enclave" of Shanghai in Dafeng, with a total planned area of 33 square kilometers, including 12 square kilometers in Phase I, with 4 square kilometers launched in advance. After years of development, the Cluster has established three leading industries represented by new energy, new infrastructure and new agriculture, and designated "four" functional zones: intelligent manufacturing zone, high-tech agriculture zone, modern industrial property supporting zone and municipal functional supporting zone. In 2019, the Cluster area listed in the outline of the regional integration development plan of the Yangtze River Delta. By the end of 2020, the Cluster was successfully selected into the first batch of national green industry demonstration bases, and a "North Shanghai - Ecological Intelligent Manufacturing City" is emerging.
