On October 11th, Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week2021 opened at Shanghai Would Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. Li Qiang, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, was present. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayorof Shanghai Municipal Government, and Xin Guobing, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of PRC), made speeches. Municipal leaders including ZhugeYujie and Zhu Zhisong also attended the ceremony.
In the keynote speech, Zhang Boli, Honorary President of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Nobel Prize laureate Michael Levitt, Wang XIaodong, Academician of National Academy of Sciencesand Foreign Academician of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Liang Zhiwen, CEO of J.P.Morgan China, shared cutting-edge trends and innovative achievements in biomedicine and related fields.
The world-class biomedical industry cluster partners were announced at the opening ceremony.Industry dialogue and the "Tomorrow Star" activity of biomedicine were also launched.
The establishment and holding of Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week is an important measure to implement the central deployment requirements, help optimize the biomedical industry ecology in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta,and accelerate the construction of world-class biomedical industry clusters.The event was held online and offline. More than 1,000 well-known scientists, investors and heads of biomedical enterprises at home and abroad attended the event. Relying on the biomedical industrial park, international well-known enterprises and investment institutions, 20 high-end activities were held to display the development achievements of Shanghai’s biomedical industry in an all-round way and create investment opportunities and cooperation space in the biomedical field, promote ideological collision and in-depth exchanges among all parties, attract the convergence and financing of global advantageous resources, and maximize investment attraction and industrial landing.
