On the afternoon of July 14th, in order to implement the spirit of the meeting of the Leading Group for Promoting the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises under the State Council, the Joint Conference of Service Enterprises in Shanghai held a special meeting on the development environment of small and medium-sized enterprises and a working meeting on urban SMEs. Rong Zhiqin, Director of the Office of the Joint Meeting of Service Enterprises in Shanghai and Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the event and delivered a speech.
In the first half of the year, SMEs in Shanghai overcame various unfavorable factors and continued to maintain a generally stable, steady and progressive trend. From January to May, the total profits of industrial SMEs above designated size reached RMB69.964 billion, a year-on-year increase of 61.8%. Industrial SMEs achieved operating income of RMB855.304 billion, a year-on-year increase of 30.6%, 5.6% higher than the city's average. The operating cost was RMB689.233 billion, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%. The operating margin was 7.8%, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year. The cost per RMB100 of operating income decreased by RMB0.04 year-on-year, the expense per RMB100 of operating income decreased by RMB0.49 year-on-year, and the profit continued to rise.
