The National Information Consumption Demonstration City Tour (Shanghai Stop) and Shanghai Information Consumption Festival officially kicked off

On May 17th, the National Information Consumption City Tour (Shanghai Stop) and Shanghai Information Consumption Festival jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Shanghai Municipal Government officially kicked off at Shanghai International Fashion Center, which will last for one month. Wu Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the Information Consumption Festival. Jiang Mingtao, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Development Department of MIIT, addressed the conference on behalf of MIIT.

At the opening ceremony, China Information Consumption Alliance and national leading enterprises in information consumption jointly read out the Shanghai Declaration on Information Consumption, so as to protect the rights and interests of information consumers, bridge the "digital gap", crack down on infringement and counterfeiting, strengthen employment security, and escort the healthy development of platform economy with industry self-discipline. After the opening ceremony, Shanghai Online New Economy Summit 2021 was also held. The founders of Youkede, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu and other companies jointly launched the Pujiang Xinghe Entrepreneur Association at the summit; China ICT Institute released a report on the development trend of information consumption. Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences released the White Paper on Shanghai’s Online New Economic Development (2020), which reviewed the achievements of Shanghai’s online new economic development in the past year.
