On April 2nd, the founding meeting of Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Standardization Technical Committee was held at Shanghai Research Institute of Materials. Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, was present and made a speech. Zhu Ming, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, also attended the meeting.
Mr. Fu pointed out in his speech that in recent years, China’s additive manufacturing industry has maintained rapid growth. Shanghai has established the first provincial additive manufacturing innovation center and the first provincial additive manufacturing industry association in China, and has a first-class industrial development environment in the whole country. First, there are more than 200 additive manufacturers in Shanghai, ranking the forefront in the country in terms of number, attracting headquarters of many international top enterprises in Greater China or Asia Pacific to settle down, and some technologies of local advantage enterprises have reached or surpassed the international advanced level. Second, Shanghai is rich in intellectual resources. There are many double first-class universities and disciplines in Shanghai, and vocational education is well developed. The academician achievement exhibition and transformation center jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Shanghai Municipal Government will also be unveiled in the near future. And third, Shanghai has a variety of application scenarios, high-end manufacturing industry is intensive, and medical, education, cultural and creative resources are concentrated. It has made some leading achievements in aerospace, automobile, spare parts and other application fields to fill the gaps in China. There are more than 20,000 medical 3D printing cases, ranking first in the world.
Mr. Fu also put forward three suggestions on the work of Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Standardization Technical Committee. First, play the role of standardization "think tank" and strengthen the top-level design and layout. Second, use the advantages of innovation platform to drive the innovation of the whole industry chain by standardization. And third, strengthen cooperation and linkage to form a pattern of multi-party cooperation. The committee should strengthen the communication with the industry authorities and business authorities, actively strive for support and accept work guidance. It is important to strengthen the cooperation between member units and other professional institutions to promote the wide application of additive manufacturing technology in various industries. Strengthen regional linkage, and promote standardization docking and cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta.
Mr. Fu and Mr. Zhu jointly launched the unveiling ceremony of the Committee and issued letters of appointment to the Committee representatives.
