On the afternoon of March 1st, in order to implement the decision and deployment of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Government on promoting the construction of five new towns and accelerate the high-quality industrial development of new towns, the construction of "one outstanding park in each new town" and urban digital transformation, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization，and Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of the Commission, went to Qingpu New Town to made special research and discussion. Mr. Wu visited ASD Intelligent Valley and its exhibition hall to understand the development status of the park's artificial intelligence industry and took a ride to the key areas of Qingpu New Town to understand the construction of the Biomedical Industrial Park, Artificial Intelligence Corridor and Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park.
At the event, Mr. Wu pointed out that it is necessary to speed up the transformation of national strategy and ecological advantages into development advantages. First, it is essential to find out the industry development orientation. It is important for Qingpu New Town to accelerate the undertaking of innovation expansion and industrial chain extension such as Hongqiao Central Business District, Xichen Science and Technology Innovation Center and Shixi Software Information Park, vigorously develop digital economy, promote digital industrialization and industry digitization, and improve the level of digital economy agglomeration. Second, it is necessary to accelerate the construction of "one outstanding park in each new town", support the new towns to optimize the park management system, enhance the development scale and energy level of industrial parks, and start the future town of Digital Lake District. What’s more, it is also advisable to support Qingpu Industrial Park to build characteristic industrial clusters around biomedicine, artificial intelligence, hydrogen energy and other fields, and actively introduce a number of major industrial projects. And third, it is vital to speed up the digital transformation of the city. It is wise for Qingpu New Town to seize the opportunity, promote the construction of 5G and other new generation information infrastructure at a high level, and accelerate the creation of digital application scenarios in the fields of economy, life and governance.
