From December 9th to 11th, Lu Xiaochun, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, visited Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province and Qingdao and Rongcheng in Shangdong Province for research on nuclear power industry.
During the visit, Lu Xiaochun and his party successively went toChina National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., North Branch of China Nuclear Industry Maintenance Co., Ltd., State Nuclear Power Demonstration Plant Co. Ltd, and Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. The team visited the construction sites of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, operational skills training base of National Nuclear Emergency Rescue Team, "Guohe No.1" demonstration project and Shidao Bay high temperature gas cooled reactor. The team listened to the business management, engineering construction, machine operation and personnel training of these enterprises and exchanged views on the follow-up cooperation direction.
Mr. Lu expressed his gratitude to the companies for their long-term support for the development of Shanghai's nuclear power industry. He pointed out that nuclear energy, as a clean and low-carbon energy source, is not only one of the important national energy strategies, but also an important guarantee for China to achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality" and promote "green development". In recent years, Shanghai has continuously deepened and expanded cooperation with major nuclear power groups. More Shanghai enterprises have participated in the construction and operation services of nuclear power projects. A number of powerful state-owned enterprises and private enterprises have continued to invest, which has further improved the innovation and tackling ability of Shanghai's nuclear power industry. Looking forward to the 14th Five-Year Plan, Shanghai will strengthen the leading function of high-end industry and accelerate the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry including nuclear power. It is hoped that all parties will deepen the industrial linkage cooperation with Shanghai, focus on the "bottleneck" problem, rely on the advantages of Shanghai's nuclear power industry chain, carry out joint research, accelerate the pace of key core technology innovation and equipment localization, further enhance the independent ability of nuclear power equipment, and help China's nuclear power to "go global". The Commission should do a good job in coordinating services, supporting the development of relevant cooperation projects, and ensuring the steady progress of major project construction.
