Preparations for 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) have been launched. On the afternoon of December 7th, the summary meeting of 2020 WAIC Cloud Summit and preparation kick-off meeting of 2021 WAIC were held at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Relevant leaders from different units were present, including Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal Government and Office Director of the Organizing Committee of WAIC, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman, Guan Xiaojun, Deputy Governor of Pudong New Area, Yan Bo, Deputy Governor of Xuhui District, Wang Ye, Deputy Director of Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, Yang Haijun, Chief Engineer of Information Office of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Ding Bo, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Youth League Committee, Huang Xinghua, Member of the Party Group of Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, Cao Wei, Chairman of Donghao Lansheng Group, and Li Rong, Vice President of Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group (SMG)and Chairman of YICAI. About 120 people from relevant units and enterprises attended the event, including representatives of relevant municipal committees and offices, conference partners, organizers of conferences and forums, important exhibitors and enterprises related to artificial intelligence and media.
At the meetings, the preparatory plans for 2021 WAIC were unveiled. The next year's conference will continue to implement the spirit of congratulations from President Xi Jinping to WAIC, as well as the latest directive spirit on the development of artificial intelligence, and to create a branded event of the international AI industry, helping Shanghai build the strategic node of the central circle of domestic circulation and the strategic link of domestic and international double circulation. The next year's conference is scheduled for early July. The main venue will be located at the Expo campus, and the innovative application exhibitions will be arranged in Hall H1 and Hall H2 of Shanghai Expo Exhibition Center, and the exhibition area will be further expanded. The conference will continue to adhere to the online and offline linkage and carry out online live broadcast and cloud exhibition. The conference will focus on promoting innovation in function, organization and content, improving brand building, intelligent experience and work coordination mechanism, and further deepen the market-oriented organization of the conference, create a good ecology of the conference, give full play to the advantages of the main organizers and partners, widely promote win-win cooperation, promote development with the conference, and promote the pace with the platform.
Mr. Chen and Mr. Wu presented awards to the outstanding organizers and cooperative organizations (enterprises) of the Cloud Summit of 2020 WAIC. Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, summarized the Cloud Summit of 2020 WAIC on behalf of the organizing committee office.
As the organizers and cooperative organizations, representatives of Pudong New Area, Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and Huawei, made speeches.
It is reported that relevant information of 2021 WAIC will be released through the official website（www.worldaic.com.cn), and the official account of WeChat. The collection of theme topics, the planning of forum activities, the negotiation of cooperative organizations, and the invitation for investment and exhibition have also been started simultaneously.
