On the afternoon of December 3rd, the promotion meeting of Shanghai Electronic Chemicals Zone and the International Forum on Innovation and Development of Electronic Chemicals were held in Shanghai. Wu Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, unveiled for the zone and made a speech. Qiao Yueshan, Director of the Electronic Information Department of MIIT, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government, awarded the letters of appointment to special experts of the zone. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, read out the reply. Hou Jinhua, Deputy Director of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP), introduced the planning of the zone. At the meeting, SCIP and SCIP Development Company signed contracts with 21 enterprises, investment institutions and public service platforms.
Mr. Wu pointed out that Shanghai is fully implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and striving to become a strategic link between the central node of the domestic macro cycle as well as the dual domestic and international circulation. Electronic chemicals are the foundation of high-end manufacturing industry, and also an important support for the development of integrated circuit industry. The rapid development of global electronic information industry and the continuous growth of integrated circuit industry have brought new opportunities for the development of electronic chemical industry. Shanghai attaches great importance to the development of the integrated circuit industry and takes integrated circuit as one of the three leading industries. The inauguration of Shanghai Electronic Chemicals Zone will further enhance the capabilities of integrated circuit supply chain and promote Shanghai to build a world-class industrial cluster of integrated circuits. He called on the zone to take the opportunity of its inauguration, uphold the innovative spirit of Pudong's development and opening up, comprehensively promote the construction of the zone, accelerate the linkage development, do a good job in project recruitment, open the brand of the zone, and promote the zone to become a new business card for Shanghai to expand its opening up and gather high-quality resources of the global electronic and chemical industry.
Mr. Qiao expressed his gratitude to CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Government for their long-term support for the development of the national integrated circuit industry. He said that integrated circuit is a strategic, basic and leading industry related to national security and the lifeline of the national economy. The measures taken by Shanghai to create Shanghai Electronic Chemicals Zone are conducive to giving full play to the advantages of Shanghai's leading enterprises, rich innovation resources and high-end talents, and effectively guarantee the stability of China's integrated circuit supply chain. According to the unified deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the electronic department of MIIT will give full support to Shanghai in breaking the bottleneck of the development of the electronic chemical industry, and accelerate the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry.
