On the afternoon of November 20th, Shanghai Symposium on Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry was held at Fengxian District. Under the witness of Jiang Zhuoqing, Director of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Oriental Beauty Valley Traditional Chinese Medicine Industrial Base was officially unveiled. At the same time, the key laboratory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) standardization of the Ministry of Education, the engineering research center of modern preparation technology of Chinese medicine, and the technology transfer center of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were also veiled. "One base and three centers" will become the bearing place of Shanghai’s traditional Chinese medicine industry, the transformation place of innovation achievements, the source of standard formulation and the birthplace of high-quality brands, marking a new stage of transformation and industrialization of TCM innovations and achievements in Shanghai.
Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, made a speech. He said that it was necessary to focus on the talent, university, clinical and other advantageous resources to create a national carrier of TCM industry at Fengxian District. At the same time, he also shared three thoughts on the development of the city's TCM industry around "inheritance", "innovation" and "integration". Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, People's Government of Fengxian District and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly signed the "Shanghai high altitude cooperation agreement on traditional Chinese medicine industry". Through the construction of the industrial park, three parties will build a comprehensive national TCM transformation platform integrating scientific research and clinical research, establish an industrial common technology platform, as well as a technology trading and investment and financing incubation platform. Focusing on the theme of "seizing the opportunity to create the innovation highland and industrial cluster of TCM industry in the Oriental Beauty Valley", many academicians, entrepreneurs and scientists have gathered wisdom and made suggestions for the development of TCM industry at Fengxian Distrct, Shanghai and even the whole country.
Previously, Mr. Jiang proposed to strengthen the linkage and cooperation with Fengxian District during the visit to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so as to promote innovative technological achievements and realize local industrialization. He called for the establishment of special classes to promote cooperation and linkage between Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Fengxian district government in achievement transformation. As a result, it officially opened the prelude of "dual valley linkage" between Zhangjiang and Fengxian. Fengxian is gradually becoming an important carrier of Zhangjiang's biomedical innovation achievements, and has taken an important step on the road of regional linkage in practice.
