On November 14th, the opening ceremony of Shanghai High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Center was held at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, awarded the plaque to Liu Ping, Head of Shanghai High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Center and Vice President of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Relevant leaders were present at the ceremony, including Xue Kan, Governor of Yangpu District, Li Yongzhi, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Hu Hongyi, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, Guo Shuting, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Medical Products Administration, Zhao Liang, Vice Governor of Yangpu District, and Wang Xingpeng, Director of Shanghai Hospital Development Center.
Mr. Wu pointed out that the biopharmaceutical industry is a "never ending sunrise industry". It is important to implement the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 30th anniversary celebration conference of Pudong's development and opening up, focus on key areas, develop innovative industries, and create world-class biomedical industry clusters. What's more, it is advisable to give full play to the main role of enterprises, colleges and universities, accelerate the independent innovation of high-end medical equipment, and promote the high-quality development of the industry. First, it is necessary to implement Shanghai Program of biomedicine and accelerate the tackling of key common technologies in the industry with the construction of high-end medical equipment innovation center. Second, adhere to the "high-end leadership", fully cultivate innovative subjects of high-end medical equipment, and accelerate the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. And third, strengthen the "collaborative opening up" and build the innovation ecosystem of the supply chain and industrial chain.
The manufacturing innovation center focuses on the R&D, transfer and diffusion of key generic technologies and the first commercialization around the technical route in this field. Led by University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Center, together with Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical College, Shanghai Institute of Micro system and Information Technology (SIMIT), SIMIC Holdings, United Imaging, WEGO and Ossen group, will rely on the medical device innovation and application alliance as well as the Yangtze River Delta high-end medical device innovation alliance, start from the needs of the medical industry, aim at the technological frontier of high-end medical equipment and gathering Industry strength, overcome the key common problems of the industry, realize technological innovation and mode innovation, promote the "three chain integration" of innovation chain, industrial chain and value chain, and drive the leapfrog development of the industry.
