On October 29th, the Internet Society of China held the press conference of "Research Report on Comprehensive Strength of Internet Enterprises in China (2020)" and Summit Forum of Top 100 Enterprises in Beijing. Sui Jing, Deputy Director of Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT),was present and made a speech. There are 20 licensed enterprises in Shanghai, including Buy Together, Ctrip, Qutoutiao, Shanghai Wangsu Science and Technology, Xiaohongshu and China PNR, among Top 100.The number of Shanghai enterprises in Top 100 ranked second in China, demonstrating the leadership of Internet development in Shanghai.
In 2020, the selection of the list focused on a number of key indicators across six dimensions, including size, profitability, innovation, growth, influence and social responsibility. It took nearly seven months before and after weighted calculation to form the comprehensive strength of Internet enterprises and conduct a comprehensive and rigorous study on the development status of Internet industry leaders in China. The "Research Report on Comprehensive Strength of Internet Enterprises in China (2020)"published together with the list shows that the development quality of Top 100 enterprises with comprehensive Internet strength in China remains at a high level, and the business model is becoming mature and has strong sustainability. In 2019, the revenue of Top 100 enterprises reachedRMB3.5 trillion, an increase of 28.2% over last year. The overall profit had stepped to a new level, with the total operating profit reaching RMB317.49 billion, an increase of 34.1% over last year.
