On October 30th,Yan Juanqi, Vice Chairman of the 12th NPC Standing Committee, visited Shanghai Supercomputer Center for inspection, accompanied by Fan Xiping, former Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government and Chairman of Shendi Goup, and Yang Kefang, Deputy Director of the General Office of Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. The team visited the staff of Shanghai Supercomputer Center and put forward earnest hope for the future development of the center. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, was present.
In the conference room on the third floor of Shanghai Supercomputer Center, Mr. Yan listened to the report on the work of the Center.
After in-depth exchange and communication, Mr. Yan put forward three advices. First, it is important to combine with the new infrastructure and new service industry, the public service platform of Shanghai Supercomputer Center will play an increasingly important role. In the future, we should focus on the construction of computing power and the application of basic software. Second, it is necessary to combine with the development plan of Yangtze River Delta. Shanghai Supercomputer Center should use its own management experience and talent team to play a leading role. And third, it is a must to adhere to the positioning of public service platform for long-term and stable development, strengthen the construction of data security, build a multi-level and multi mechanism talent team, and play the role of public service platform. It is hoped that the center can once again "take the lead" in the new situation in the future and lead the development of high-performance computing applications in China.
Mr. Fan affirmed the development of the center in the past 20 years. He hoped that the Center could seize the opportunity of scientific and technological innovation in Shanghai, conscientiously do a good job in the sustainable development plan of Shanghai and make greater contributions to the construction of scientific and technological innovation.
Mr. Wu put forward some suggestions on the future development of Shanghai Supercomputer Center, pointing out that it is necessary to further combine the construction of Shanghai’s science and technology innovation center and give full play to its role as a large public service platform, and will continue to pay attention to and support the development of Shanghai Supercomputer Center.
Zhou Ximin, Director of Shanghai Supercomputer Center, gave a report on the work of the center. He introduced the construction, operation and application achievements of the center over the past 20 years. He also introduced the innovation and development work and gave suggestions for future development.
