On October 27th, the "Oriental ChiPort", a comprehensive industrial base of integrated circuit at Lingang Special Area, has been officially launched. Relevant leaders attended the launching ceremony, including Zhu Zhisong, Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government, Chairman of the Working Committee of CPC Lingang Area Committee, and Executive Deputy Director of Management Committee, Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Yuan Guohua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Lingang Special Area District Committee, Secretary of CPC and Chairman of Lingang Group, Wu Xiaohua, Member of the Working Committee of CPC Lingang Area Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Lingang Special Area, Shao Min, Associate Counsel of Shanghai SASAC, as well as Lu Ming, Secretary of CPC Committee and Chairman of Lingang Group.
Mr. Fu pointed out in his speech that integrated circuits are important for the country. Creating a comprehensive industrial base of integrated circuits in Lingang Special Area is an important measure to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's new requirements for the development of Lingang and integrated circuits in the city. The Commission will give full support to the construction of "Oriental core port" IC characteristic Park at Lingang Special Area, increase support for the landing of major projects, continuously optimize business environment, create optimal industrial ecology, continue to expand opening-up efforts, and accelerate the construction of domestic and international dual circulation pattern.
At the ceremony, 14 key projects, including the industrialization project of medium and micro semiconductor equipment, R&D center of AWINIC consumer electronics chip, and main project of Long sys storage development and sales, were jointly signed, covering all aspects of the integrated circuit industry chain including chip manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, key materials and chip design, with a total investment of RMB22.5 billion.
At present, Lingang Special Area has gathered more than 40 integrated circuit enterprises with a total investment of more than RMB150 billion. A large number of domestic top integrated circuit enterprises are ready to set sail, including Huada Semiconductor, GEKE, SIMIC Holdings, and WINGTECH, AMEC, ACM, and Kingstone Semiconductor in equipment manufacturing, ZINGSEMI, SICC in key materials, as well as Empyrean, Primarius Technologies, SSMEC, Montage Technology, Cambricon, and Horizon Robotics in chip design.
Relevant comrades from Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Planning and Resources Bureau, Municipal SASAC, and Lingang New District Management Committee were present.
