On the morning of October 26th, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, met with Cai Zhenhe, Consul General of Singapore in Shanghai. The two parties exchanged views on promoting cooperation in new industries in Shanghai.
Mr. Wu welcomed Mr. Cai and his team, and introduced relevant work of the Commission in promoting the development of industrial economy and informatization of Shanghai. He expressed that Shanghai and Singapore established a comprehensive cooperation mechanism between the two parties and signed an agreement last year. The cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, industrial parks and smart city construction under the responsibility of the Commission have been carried out. He hoped that the two parties will give full play to their respective advantages. First, it is important to learn from respective strengths and complement each other in high-tech fields such as industrial data, online new economy and artificial intelligence, and carry out in-depth cooperation and exchanges. Second, it is necessary to take the characteristic industrial park of Shanghai as the carrier to further strengthen the industrial cooperation. And third, the Commission will provide good services and build a good platform to better implement the tasks related to the comprehensive cooperation mechanism between Shanghai and Singapore.
Mr. Cai introduced relevant planning and development in the fields of science, technology and industry in recent years in Singapore. He said that Singapore has certain advantages in scientific and technological innovation, and will support more Singapore enterprises to settle in Shanghai and carry out market-oriented cooperation. He also hoped that through the cooperation between Shanghai and Singapore, more high-end industrial projects will be connected to realize mutual benefit and win-win situation between the two cities.
