On August 11th, Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economy held the first session of the sixth Member Meeting at the auditorium of the CPPCC Municipal Committee. Li Qiang, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, gave instructions on the work of Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics, requiring the Federation to give full play to the role of joint organization of hub type industry associations, so as to better serve the development of enterprises and boost the transformation and upgrading of industries. Wu Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, was present and made a speech. Relevant leaders were also present, including Jiang Yiren, former Chairman of the CPPCC Municipal Committee, Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government, Lu Xiaochun, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, and Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. Guan Weiyong was elected new President of Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics.
Wu Qing congratulated the newly elected president, vice president, secretary general and other directors in his speech. He pointed out that first, it is important to gather new forces, highlight new achievements, and promote high-quality industrial development in Shanghai. It is hoped that the Federation will speed up the exploration and of new ideas, ways and methods of social organizations in boosting industrial development, constantly strengthen its own construction, improve its governance structure, and better serve the overall situation of economic development in Shanghai. It is necessary to further promote the in-depth integration of industry, education and research in industrial agglomeration areas and promote the development of industrial integration in the Yangtze River Delta. Second, it is necessary to meet new challenges and new requirements and embody new achievements in economic growth. Under the current situation of reshaping the competitive advantages as well as economic and trade rules in the world, the Federation should analyze the industrial situation in time, play a role in coordinating with the government, associations and enterprises, actively reflect the demands of enterprises, provide extensive services, make full use of its talent, information and functional advantages, accelerate the development of industrial integration and help enterprises participate domestic large cycle as well as international and domestic dual cycle. And third, it is necessary to comply with the new trend, stimulate new momentum, and accelerate the transformation and development of enterprises. The Federation should speed up to comply with the trend of industrial change, give full play to the advantages of resource linkage, help promote the digital empowerment and intelligent transformation of enterprises, fully stimulate the vitality and creativity of enterprises, further promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries with advantages, cultivate emerging industries, and create new competitive advantages in future industries.
Lu Xiaochun affirmed the efforts and achievements made by the Federation in strengthening the Party building of economic social organizations and practicing hub management and put forward his hope for the future development of the Federation. First, it is necessary to give further play to political advantages and strengthen the guidance of Party building. The new Party committee of the Federation should play the political core role of the Party organization and lead the work of the Federation. Second, it is necessary to further play a pivotal role. The Federation should make good use of its rich human resources, association resources and enterprise resources, gather all forces to overcome the difficulties, and make new contributions to the double victory of COVID-19control and the realization of economic and social development goals. And third, it is a must to further forge ahead and serve the overall situation of development. The Federation should actively build a platform for scientific and technological innovation, cross-border integration and association development, boost the development of integrated circuit, artificial intelligence and biological medicine industries, promote the agglomeration of high-end industrial clusters, and promote the optimization and upgrading of the industries.
