On July 22nd, jointly sponsored by the Industrial Development Bureau of Taipei Municipal Government and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Industrial and Economic Exchange Sub-forum of 2020 Taipei-Shanghai City was successfully held in both cities in the form of cloud conferences.
Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Lin Yuhong, Deputy Secretary General of Taipei Municipal Government and Lin Chongjie, Director of Industrial Development Bureau of Taipei Municipal Government, were present. Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, presided over the event.
Mr. Wu delivered a keynote speech, shared the latest exploration and practice of "online new economy and new industrial space" in Shanghai, and explained the new industrial opportunities after COVID-19 with three keywords of "online, link and intelligent". Shanghai is seizing new opportunities, lighting up the online new economic engine, speeding up the layout of new digital infrastructure, and promoting the construction of a new type of smart city. A good industrial ecosystem of active innovation, intelligent coordination and integrated development is gradually forming, and the industrial development ushers in a new beginning.
Mr. Lin also made a keynote speech. He analyzed the impact of COVID-19 on the global economy and the changes in industrial trends. Taipei has actively responded to the impact of the epidemic by launching five action plans, including infrastructure, innovation and research, smart retail, talent cultivation and public services, to accelerate digital transformation.
Facing the new normal of COVID-19 prevention and economic development, Shanghai and Taipei are committed to accelerating industrial transformation and enabling urban construction and a better life. The new generation of Internet industry representatives and elites from Shanghai and Taipei focused on the new development of the industry in the post-COVID-19 era. Focusing on the core topics like digital economy, smart payment, content services, and new business models, they shared new practices, new achievements and new insights, and discussed opportunities and challenges for the new development of the industry and worked together for the future innovation path.
Both parties sides expressed that they would take the forum as an opportunity to strengthen learning and exchange, promote practical cooperation in industrial development between Shanghai and Taipei, and join hands in opening up new scenes to meet a better future of digital society.
