On the afternoon of June 8th, the Organizing Committee Office of China International Industry Fair (CIIF) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in Shanghai. It is planned to set up the National Pavilion of Italy at the 22nd CIIF, bringing top Italian enterprises and products to display at the event. Rong Zhiqin, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office of CIIF and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Fang Lanyi, Italian Ambassador in China, were present and made speeches. Chen Qi, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Liu Guangyong, Deputy Director of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, and Cao Wei, President of Donghao Lansheng Group, witnessed the signing ceremony.
Ambassador Fang said that the signing of the cooperation memorandum is the first signing ceremony attended by the Italian Chamber of Commerce since he took office as Italian Ambassador in China. It is of great significance for China and Italy to expand new fields and deepen business cooperation on the basis of the existing partnership. The Italian Embassy in China will actively support the cooperation between the two parties.
Mr. Rong expressed that after 21 years of development, CIIF has become a world-leading and branded international industrial exhibition. Italian enterprises can further promote professional exchanges between enterprises of the two countries by displaying the latest products and technologies in advanced manufacturing industry through the platform of CIIF. Shanghai is striving for "double victories" in epidemic prevention and economic development. Focusing on industrial development, investment promotion and enterprise services, Shanghai is speeding up the development of new digital infrastructure, online new economy and new information consumption, which will bring greater opportunities for all-round cooperation between China and Italy. More Italian enterprises are welcomed to invest in Shanghai.
The 22nd CIIF will be held in Shanghai from September 15th to 19th this year. As one of the promotion activities for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, in addition to the National Pavilion of Italy planned to be set up in the Fair, "China Week of Italian Machinery Technology" will also be held to promote Italian manufacturing enterprises and products, and faciliated the exchange between Chinese and Italian enterprises.
