On the afternoon of March 23rd, the press conference on "Shanghai comprehensive epidemic prevention insurance for resumption of work and production" was held in Shanghai Branch of China Pacific Insurance Group, marking the launch of the first domestic insurance product specifically for work resumption in flexible employment industry. Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Government, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and leaders of relevant units were present. Zhang Ying, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, presided over the event.
In order to stick to epidemic prevention and control, protect economic and social development, and ensure stable employment in industries with low rate and difficulties in work resumption, "Shanghai comprehensive insurance for migrant workers return to work during epidemic situation" was released under the joint promotion of Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, Municipal Financial Work Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Commission of housing and urban rural development, and Shanghai Insurance Regulatory Commission. Shanghai Branch of China Pacific Insurance Group accelerated the completion of product development and filing, and took the lead in providing insurance for construction, household services, beauty salon, catering and cooking industries.
To strengthen the confidence of SMEs and promote their return to work is the top priority. In the four industries of housekeeping, catering, beauty salon and construction, there are more SMEs. Providing insurance guarantee for these industries will help SMEs to return to work and production, and effectively ensure the smooth operation of the economy. During the current epidemic period, migrant workers in these industries are worried about coming to Shanghai. In case of getting new crown, especially when there is no source of livelihood during isolation, it will bring a great burden to families. Therefore, the Commission and relevant departments, together with the insurance enterprises, designed the insurance product based on the actual security needs of the migrant workers in Shanghai. The product is designed to provide financial compensation for rehabilitation workers returning to Shanghai who are diagnosed novel coronavirus pneumonia and isolated. The economic compensation includesRMB50,000 compensation for each confirmed case of COVID-19 and RMB100,000 for each critically ill case. This will effectively alleviate the worries of SMEs and workers, reduce the business risks of enterprises, enhance the confidence of returning to work, and help the city to fight in the epidemic prevention and control and take the initiative in economic development.
On the press conference, under the witness of the guests, Shanghai Branch of China Pacific Insurance Group respectively signed the insurance agreement of the "comprehensive epidemic prevention insurance for resumption of work and production" with Shanghai Construction Trade Association, Shanghai Home Service Industry Association, Shanghai Hairdressing Association and Shanghai Catering Industry Association.
