The “Belt and Road” Summit Forum on International Cooperation in the Information Industry was held in Shanghai

      On November 12th, in order to serve the strategy of the "Belt and Road" Initiative (B&R),the “Belt and Road” Summit Forum on International Cooperation in the Information Industry was held in Shanghai. Wu Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai CPC Committee and Vice Mayor of Shanghai, was present and made a speech. Li Zhaoxing, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Mora, former Minister of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica, Chen Mingbo, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal Government, and Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, were also present.

 

      Mr. Wu pointed out in his speech that the "Belt and Road” Initiative has become an important opportunity for all countries to seek common development. At present, Shanghai is implementing the important directive spirit delivered in President Xi Jinping's visit to Shanghai and his keynote speech at China International Import Expo. It is important to closely integrate with the " three new major tasks", "four brands" and "five centers" to better serve the "B&R" construction. In addition, it is also necessary to give full play to our own advantages, stimulate the vitality of market players, carry out special actions in key areas, build a multi-level trade and investment network of the "B&R", strengthen financial opening and innovation, and extensively carry out international scientific and technological innovation cooperation. What's more, it is advisable to focus on key areas of new generation information technology, carry out joint construction and sharing, further strengthen cooperation with relevant countries in terms of communication and information facilities, software service outsourcing, and information technology consulting, promote demonstration application of new products and services, and strive to create more new highlights of cooperation.

 

      Based on the theme of "build a digital silk road together and create a better future for the industry", the integration of the Yangtze River Delta supporting the "B&R" Initiative, the cross-industry economic cooperation and the third-party market cooperation were discussed at the Forum. The participants also witnessed the establishment of the "Belt and Road" Information Industry Development Alliance.

 

      Relevant representatives and comrades were present, including representatives of British, Hungarian, Czech, Thai, Sri Lanka and Iran consulates, leaders of Yan'an, Ziyang, Yulin, Mianyan, Sanmenxia,Pingdingshan, Zhumadian, and Zhangye, and some representatives from the business community.
