In June this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially issued 5G commercial license, marking that 5G in China has developed in depth. Shanghai is also speeding up 5G network construction, application innovation and industrial development, focusing on the new generation of information infrastructure construction led by 5G, and building the brand of "double Gigabit Broadband City"; What's more, it is important to promote the integration and application of 5G enabling vertical industries to support the efficient operation of the city and the high quality life of the citizens; 5G can also promote the collaborative innovation and agglomeration of 5G industrial chain, and help the high-quality economic development.
In order to welcome5Gcommercialization, the information and communication industry in Shanghai has been fully prepared. By the end of October, 14,406 5Gmacro base stations have been built in Shanghai, 13,810 have been opened, and 12,551 5G indoor stations have been built and opened at the same time. It is expected to achieve the full coverage of 5G network in key urban and suburban areas by the end of the year.At the same time, we have stepped up to promote the integrated development of 5G industry chain, business chain and innovation chain with industry application, and more than 200 5G applications are being promoted in all industries in the city. For example, the world's first 5G commercial aircraft manufacturing plant, the first port intelligent heavy truck road coordination system based on 5G, the world's first 5G focused ultrasound remote surgery have landed in Shanghai. According to the maturity of 5G enabled vertical field, Shanghai will successively issue white papers in relevant fields, help to build an ecosystem integrating 5G industry and application, give full play to industry enabling role of 5G, and inject new momentum into the construction of an outstanding global city.
The official commercialization of 5G is the starting point of the new journey.
