On August 2nd, Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, went to Shenzhen to pay visits to the headquarters of some Central Government-owned Enterprises like China Merchants Group and China Resources (Holdings). The team focused on the exchange of strategic layout of enterprises, the development plan of enterprises in Shanghai and the development needs of two central government-owned enterprises in Shanghai.
Mr. Rong pointed out that three new important tasks entrusted by the central government to Shanghai have provided new opportunities for Shanghai's development and injected new momentum into the development of central government-owned enterprises in Shanghai. It is hoped that the central government-owned enterprises will seize the new opportunities and contribute to the implementation of three major tasks: First, deeply participate in the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta, form joint efforts between the central government and different districts, and jointly accelerate the construction of world-class urban agglomerations and industrial clusters. Second, with the construction of the new area of Shanghai Free Trade Test Zone, it is important to further enhance the "new height" of opening to the outside world, regard Shanghai as the lead of the "going out" of the central government-owned enterprises, and expand more new international business. And third, support innovative subsidiaries to be listed on the Sci-Tech Board and inject strong impetus into scientific and technological innovations of enterprises with the power of capital market. At the same time, Mr. Rong also invited central government-owned enterprises to participate in the activities of deepening strategic cooperation between SASAC of the State Council and the municipal government held in Shanghai this August.
