On the afternoon of June 18th, Shanghai Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference, during which, Wu Qing, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, presented the progress of preparations for 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Zhu Xiumei, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhang Xu, Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Guan Xiaojun, Deputy Head of the Pudong New Area, attended the conference and answered questions from the press.
2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference will be held from August 29th to 31st atShanghai Expo Center, completed by the side venue of Xuhui Riverside Public Open Space, both on the banks of Huangpu River.
Since last year, artificial intelligence (AI) has risen to Shanghai's priority strategy, and industrial development has entered the “fast lane”. Shanghai has initially established itself as one of the leading regions for the development of artificial intelligence in China and has gathered first-mover advantages in four areas. First of all, the advantage of enterprise clusters has emerged, and the industrial structure of “east-west concentration and multi-point linkage” has paid off. This May, the relevant state ministries and commissions and Shanghai Municipal Government initiated the construction of Shanghai (Pudong New Area) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Pilot Zone and Shanghai National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Pilot Zone to create a number of demonstration projects to promote the deep integration of AI and the real economy. The demonstration will also drive the development of artificial intelligence throughout the country.
