On May 24th, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance(SAIA) held the first chairmen meeting. Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Zhang Ying, Chief Engineer, were present at the meeting. Wu Jianxiong, Chairman of the Alliance and Chairman of INESA, and representatives from more than 20 sponsors exchanged views and suggestions on accelerating industrial innovation and development, promoting ecological system construction, and supporting the running of the World Artificial Intelligence Congress.
Mr. Wu pointed out that the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government attach great importance to the development of artificial intelligence, and take AI, integrated circuit and biomedicine as three priority breakthroughs to tackle key problems. At present, Shanghai has issued a series of supporting policies in artificial intelligence. The industrial ecosystem and spatial layout are gradually improving. The construction of application scenarios and the R&D of innovative technologies have also made positive progress. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission have chosen Shanghai as the innovation pilot area and policy experimental field for the development of artificial intelligence, which is of big significance for Shanghai to build a science and technology innovation center with international influence, and to build an artificial intelligence innovation strategy source, application demonstration, industrial agglomeration and talent highland. To establish AI development alliance, it is important to play the role of market players, build a platform of organic linkage of industry, make research under the guidance of the government, and enhance the development level. For next steps, Mr. Wu hoped that the Alliance could play a platform role and coordinate resources; What's more, it is necessary to play a representative role, strengthen industry norms, play the role of agglomeration, enhance cooperation and empowerment, and play a leading role in supporting ecological improvement.
Ms. Zhang expressed that the development of artificial intelligence needs the efforts from all aspects. It is hoped that the Alliance will become an important platform of artificial intelligence ecosphere in Shanghai and will enable all trades and professions in the intelligent age. At the same time, the Alliance should strengthen the research of policy, standards, norms and ethics through the commission, and give targeted suggestions for further improving the system supply of AI in Shanghai. In addition, the Alliance should organize major strategic projects and application scenarios through resource matching and form an organic interaction with the international platform of the World Artificial Intelligence Congress.
At the meeting, the Artificial Intelligence Development Office of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization reported on the development of artificial intelligence in Shanghai and its key work plans. The Alliance Secretariat reported on the preparatory work of the Alliance and the main arrangements for the next stage.20 sponsors fully exchanged views on the development of AI industry in Shanghai and the Alliance. Representatives of various units said that they would continue to focus on serving Shanghai to build an artificial intelligence highland and give full play to their advantages in industrial promotion, application enablement, talent gathering, think tank research, resource sharing and brand building. What's more, these units will promote the application of new AI technologies, new products and new models in Shanghai, and strive to form a set of industry standards in application scenarios, service capabilities and quality, open sharing of industry data sets and information security.
According to the introduction, the Alliance will further expand its member units through online self-recommendation and offline recommendation. The Alliance will be opened to enterprises and institutions to widely absorb AI technology, industry, application, research, investment and financing of the innovation chain throughout the country and the world and will continue to strengthen the relevant work of the Alliance.
