Mr. Fu pointed out that in the new context of increasing data value and stricter regulations, corporate data governance and user information security have played a vital role in the development potential and competitiveness of enterprisesin Shanghai’s Internet industry. The establishment of Shanghai Data Governance and Security Industry Development Specialized Committee will gather the resources of leading domestic experts, pay attention to the new development of global data governance and industry development, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between various sectors, focus on the needs fortargeted services, and create a good atmosphere and security environment for industry development, in order to work together to build an open, inclusive and innovativeindustry ecosystem.
More than 100 experts, scholars and practitioners from various government authorities, universities, research institutes, associations and enterprises in the field of data governance were present to discuss the cutting-edge issues and future development trends of data governance in China. At the event, Ucloud, as Director of the SpecializedCommittee, introduced the work plan of the Committee. It will focus on decision-making support, supply and demand matching, capacity building and promotion. The Committee will provide research and data supportsof data governance for relevant government authorities in Shanghai, communicate enterprise data security governance needs and security product service supply, improve the professional capabilities of enterprise data security, and promote outstanding enterprises and achievements of data security governancein Shanghai. Meanwhile, the Committee will also undertake the organization and hosting of the Data Governance Salon in the future.
At present, there have been trade-offs between the development needs of the information service industry and the requirements of government regulation. The evolution of the information service providers will face greater and more complex opportunities and challenges. Shanghai attaches great importance to data governance and digital economy development. In the important stage of transition from scale growth to quality growth, the establishment of Shanghai Data Governance and Security Industry Development Specialized Committee and the organization of Data Governance Salon will help to gather all stakeholders, unite strength and jointly drive the advancement of data governance and digital industry in Shanghai.
