On the afternoon of May 21st, Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, visited NIO and SAIC VOLKSWAGEN to make research on major projects. Zhang Yang, Vice President of NIO, and Xu Qingqiao, Vice General Manager of SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, attended the research.
Mr. Ruan visited NIO showroom and listened to the introduction of the enterprise projects and tried the ES6 and ES8 models. Mr. Ruan affirmed the development of NIO Automobile. He said that the Municipal Economic and Credit Commission would continue to actively support the development of NIO Automobile in the city. He hoped that NIO would continue to increase investment and help the city build a world-class automobile industry center.
After that, Mr. Ruan made research on the MEB project of SAIC VOLKSWAGEN under construction, visited the three SAIC VOLKSWAGEN plants and held a discussion with the enterprise. He stressed that major high-quality industrial projects play an important role in promoting the effective implementation of the national strategy and stimulating the rapid growth of investment in the city. The Commission will continue to do its utmost to serve the construction of SAIC Volkswagen MEB project and ensure that the projects are put into operation effectively.
