Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, visited Shanghai Institute of Huawei Company for research

      On the afternoon of May 15th, Wu Jincheng, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman, visited The Shanghai Institute of Huawei for research. The team visited Shanghai Institute Exhibition Hall of Huawei. Dong Gang, representative of Huawei Company in Shanghai, introduced the development of 5G and the construction of Smart City.

 

      Mr. Wu expressed that Huawei has carried out fruitful work in the R&D of 5G chips, 5G base stations and Smart City construction. The company also implemented demonstration applications and accumulated rich experience.It is hoped that Huawei will optimize the industrial design of 5G products, strengthen the links with operators and strengthen the coverage of key areas. It is also hoped that the company could serve well the important events like China International Import Expo and the World Congress of Artificial Intelligence. It is also necessary for the company to base on the user experience, find the right business model, intensify the promotion of application scenarios, further explore intelligent solutions, highlight the 5G application characteristics, and upgrade the construction level of Shanghai as a Smart City.

 

      The Shanghai Institute of Huawei was established in 1996 and was stationed at Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone of Pudong New Area in 2010. It is the largest R&D institution of Huawei in the world, focusing on the R&D of wireless network products, high-end intelligent terminal products, chipsand connected vehicle. There are nearly 15,000 R&D personnel and more than 770 core intellectual property rights (patent licenses). In 2018, the revenue reachedRMB9 billion.
