On the afternoon of May 6th, the Launch Conference of Shanghai Ultra High Definition Video Industry Alliance was held. Relevant leaders were present and made speeches, including Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Wang Wei, Counsel of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Yang Ye, Director of Jinqiao Management Committee, and Lin Weiming, Director of Technical Management Department of Shanghai Television Station.
Mr. Fu expressed in his speech that the Shanghai Ultra High Definition Video Industry Development Action Plan (2019-2022) , which was jointly distributed by Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, and Shanghai Radio and Television Station, is an important measure to build the brands of "Made in Shanghai" and "Shanghai Culture". It also marks that the development of Shanghai’s UHD video industry has entered a new stage. According to the plan, Shanghai will consolidate the technical and industrial foundation of UHD video, enrich the supply of UHD video content, greatly expand the carrying capacity of network transmission, promote the intelligent application of UHD video, and focus on building a core competency of the UHD video ecosystem. By 2022, the UHD video industry in Shanghai will exceed RMB400 billion. A number of leading enterprises with international competitiveness will be cultivated, a leading content center of the UHD video industry, a leading research and development center of the UHD video industry chip, a leading patent center of the UHD video industry standard, and a leading innovation and application center of the UHD video industry will be built. A 4K UHD video comprehensive public welfare channel and four 4K professional payment channels will also be opened. What's more, state-level enterprise technology centers and technology laboratories will be built, the UHD video patents will exceed 3000, and the standard system will be improved. The "5G+4K/8K+AI" application demonstration project will be developed to support China International Import Expo, the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and key transportation hubs and areas. The "5G+8K" UHD video innovation application experiment will also be carried.
The Launch Ceremony of Shanghai Ultra High Definition Video Industry Alliance. was also held at the event. The alliance was sponsored by 47 organizations, including Oriental Pearl New Media, Shanghai Information Household Appliance Industry Association, Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group, BesTV, Shanghai Telecom, Shanghai Unicom, MIGU, Oriental Cable Network (OCN), SMG, SiTV, Oriental Pearl TV digital TV, and Jinqiao Group. The Oriental Pearl New Media Incorporation servesas Chairman and Shanghai Information Household Appliance Industry Association as Secretary General. At the UHD Video Industry Development Summit Forum held on the same day, different units extensively discussed on the core links of industry development and gathered new resources of enterprises.
