On April 25th, three ceremonies were held at Shanghai Chang Yang Valley, namely the SAIL Start-up Ceremony of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Development Alliance, the Launch Ceremony of 2019 Artificial Intelligence World Innovations and the launch ceremony of the first artificial intelligence pilot application scene in Shanghai. Relevant leaders were present, including Zhang Ying, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhao Liang, Vice Governor of Yangpu District, Wu Jianxiong, Chairman of INESA Group(the main initiators of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Development Alliance), Zhao Jiren, expert of Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Strategy, Jiang Changjun, President of Donghua University, and Shi wenjun, Associate Counsel of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization.
Establish Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Development Alliance to create a new high ground for intelligent development with the joint efforts of the industry.
In order to further gather global AI talents, break through key technologies, promote demonstration application of AI, and accelerate the construction of national AI development plateau, 22 leading domestic enterprises jointly founded Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Development Alliance under the guidance of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. It is reported that after the founding of the alliance, the member units will be further expanded. The alliance will widely absorb AI technology, industry, application, research, and investment and financing and continue to strengthen the relevant work of AI in Shanghai.
In recent years, in order to implement the national artificial intelligence strategy and create a new high-quality development of artificial intelligence, Shanghai has launched a number of documents. The effect of AI industrial cluster is obvious. According to relevant statistics, there are more than 1000 AI core enterprises in Shanghai, ranking first in the country. Leading enterprises in the industry are laying out in Shanghai, including Microsoft, Amazon, BAT and iFlYTEK. Licorne and local Enterprises of AI also developed well. At present, Shanghai has initially formed a regional linkage development pattern led by key innovation demonstration zones including Xuhui Binjiang, Pudong Zhangjiang, Yangpu, Changning, Minhang and Jing'an.
Start the "Artificial Intelligence World Innovations Competition" to build a new intelligent ecosystem on the platform
At the meeting, as an important activity of AI development and ecosystem construction in Shanghai, 2019 Artificial Intelligence World Innovation Competition (AIWIN) was officially launched. In addition, SAIL (Super AI Leader), an important award of the World Congress of Artificial Intelligence, was launched simultaneously.
It is reported that AIWIN has been highly praised in the industry since it was first launched during the World Artificial Intelligence Congress last year. Last year, more than 500 teams from more than ten countries participated in the competition. The contest of this year will continue to use the idea of high specifications, professionalism, internationalization and marketization, focusing on the four major themes of health, finance, transportation and industry. The conference also coordinates with top industry enterprises, well-known universities and international innovation institutions to carry out supporting activities like AI talents growth camp and enterprise acceleration camp.
Through the competitions, Shanghai will explore a long-term artificial intelligence innovation ecological system, and rely on the brand effect of the competition, further gather the resources of enterprises and experts to strengthen the professional, high-end and international influence of the competition, and gradually explore the formation of a pattern of "government guidance, enterprise operation, academic interaction" to create a new ecology of intelligent.
